Job Function: Responsible for the implementation of the Volunteer and Parent Involvement Program. The acquisition of in-kind services, goods and volunteers.
It is the expectation that all employees seek additional opportunities to contribute to the success and progress of Early Education and its programs.
Specific Job Duties:
- Assess community needs on an on-going basis for future program development.
- Organize and implement training programs, for parents, staff and community.
- Coordinate with Head Start staff to attend parent involvement meetings.
- Communicate with all other staff members regarding volunteer needs.
- Serve as advisor to the Policy Council and the PSPs, take notes at the Policy Council’s monthly meetings.
- Coordinate development of parent newsletters and educational materials ensuring that they are gathered, compiled, and distributed to appropriate sources.
- Work directly with community service organizations, businesses, colleges, and schools in soliciting volunteer participation.
- Develop relationships with donors and volunteers in the community.
- Organize, plan, execute, solicit and receive donations.
- Maintain database on all community organizations, civic organizations, and potential businesses.
- Prepare mailings, and contact donors to procure donations.
- Enter all donor information into the internal database system.
- Send thank you letters to all donors.
- Address program in-kind needs while meeting the federal donation requirements.
- Work with program staff to fulfill nonfederal share requirements.
- Develop a formal volunteer system to coordinate volunteer activities and trainings.
- Attend workshops, training conferences, and meetings as necessary to perform successfully in job duties.
- Utilize all available media in recruitment of participants.
- Attend required in-service meetings.
- Take a lead role in the planning of agency events, such as Kidfest and other activities sponsored by EEC. Attendance is required at these events.
- Responsible for gathering resources that will support contractual match requirements for EEC’s funding sources.
- Abide by the policies and procedures as set forth by funding sources and the EEC Board of Directors.
Limits of Authority: Act under the supervision of the Family Services Manager and assume any duties and responsibilities as delegated.
Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in human services or related field preferred. High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of successful experience working with families accepted.
Substantial experience and demonstrated competence in working with children and families from various socioeconomic backgrounds.

Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Intermediate computer literacy.
Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

and Mental Abilities:
Must complete a physical exam and TB tine screener; re-screens will be required periodically.
Sound mental and physical health.
The work environment is representative of the needs that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment.

$16.52 – $24.81
